Perfect transition from high chair!

Little Tikes Bright Table Chairs

Little Tikes Bright Table Chairs

My son is one of those crazy kids that will break ANYTHING if given the opportunity. I purchased this specific table because he is over eating in his high chair while my husband eat at our nice table, and he is too little to understand that I can't get the fork holes out of the nice wood at our Dining table when he stabs the table with his silverware. Enter: his own table! With it all one piece, he can't rip it apart. So far it has stood up wonderfuly! It even goes outside under the hose when it gets super messy, but it cleans easy. The little rim on the oustide of the table prevents his crayons from rolling off. The chairs are a bit small, and he still falls off them all the time, but I think that is more HIS issue than the table/ chair combo. ;) He loves his new independence.

  1. My mom got this set in a different color for her home. When I saw it I was really impressed with the durability and style of it. If you are looking for a table for a small space, this is perfect. The chairs slide under the table perfectly taking up very little space. The colors are really rich - a bright apple green (not neon, but very bright) and a cheery aqua-blue color. I think it's a very gender-neutral set and the colors will most likely match most aquarium/undersea themes for nurseries and play rooms.

The table is really sturdy - can handle a two-year old who wants to try to climb on it and it won't tip over. Same with the chairs - they can handle wobbly toddlers climbing on all crooked without tipping over. I tested them myself by kneeling on them and trying to rock the chair from side to side - it was very hard to rock it and I couldn't tip it over unless I made some serious effort. Each piece is a single molded piece of plastic which makes it nearly impossible to break and great for outdoor use as well. The table top is textured which isn't the best for coloring sessions, but is good for gripping if your child is a climber, and also keeps toys from sliding off. There is also a slight lip around the table to keep crayons and other small items in place.

This weekend was my daughter's second birthday and the table and chairs got some serious use from her, and four boys who were there and ranged in age from two to five. All were able to comfortably sit in the chairs (the oldest boy I don't think could get his legs under the table but it didn't stop him from playing there). The price is fantastic - I was going to get a set from a very popular Scandinavian retailer, but this was cheaper, shipped for free to my home, is more sturdy, and takes up less space!

  2. My two year grandson has been climbing out of his high chair for months...so in an effort to keep him safe, we purchased the Little Tikes Bold 'n Bright chair set. He loves it!! He watches TV, eats and even puts the chairs back in to place. It is sturdy and easy for his little hands to maneuver...and the colors are very bright and cheerful. I would highly recommend this product for any and all busy little people that are taking the next step away from using a high chair.

  5. I bought this table when my boy was 12 months old (he's 15 months old now). He loves to sit at the table and eat his snacks, but the chairs are still a bit too big for him, even at 15 months of age. He can't sit on them without my help, unless he climbs on them and that's something I don't encourage. He's always above 75% in height, so above average, but still too small for those chairs. It's seems a durable table, I love the colors, I like that it doesn't have sharp corners and it's easy to clean. I'm hoping that in a few months when he's going to grow taller and he's going to be able to sit on his own, he's going to enjoy it even more. It's a good value.

ETA: Now that my son is 18 months old, he is able to sit on the chairs on his own. They are very stable and I haven't seen him tipping them over. Definitely recommended.

  7. I bought this table for my son when he was 18 months old. Our dinner table was way too high for him (a bar height table) so I thought this would be the perfect solution. From the first time he sat down, my son thought he was suddenly a big boy. The ONLY ISSUE we initially experienced was during the first few weeks. The chairs are easily toppled so if he shifted weight unevenly, he would fall over. However now at 20 months old (two months later) he has mastered sitting down, getting up, adjusting the chair, etc. He eats at his little table for every meal. I love the product, and most of all my son loves it too!
