9559AM Automatic EXTRA Upright Vacuum

The sebo X4 X5 are excellent vacuums. I have used the x4 in a variety of situations and have always been impressed. It has honestly helped my allergies. I find it very easy to use, so I tend to whip it out more often than previous machines. It cleans brick, wood , carpets with equal ease and effectiveness. The units are very solidly built, and reliable. All bags, filters are easily found at local stores or delivered to your door by multiple internet sites. The design is tested and true, so no problems -- you won't be a test subject. The only down side to a Sebo is the initial investment. However, the are built to last, so consider the per use cost. This makes it much easier to pay the money for one. These vacuums have stood the test of time and proven to be the best. They are used in many commercial applications such as hospitals, and Buckingham palace. I do not own any stock in Sebo, but have done extensive research and testing with many brands. These are top of the line machines that will impress you if you give them the chance. There are some retailers ( govacuum) that give 30 day test drives and will actually take the vac back if you are not satisfied. Check them out, they are worth it.

  1. I have never used a better vacuum cleaner than the Sebo. It has excellent sustained suction and the automatic height adjustment is a godsend for my lower back. The included turbo cleaning head brings floor cleaning power to your fingertips over furniture and in the car. It glides over tile and hardwood flooring, medium pile carpet and several rugs of varying thicknesses in my home. The Sebo has a perfectly balanced weight, making it feel solid yet agile. The lay flat feature of the Sebo makes it ideal for cleaning under beds and tables without having to always move them. The cleaning wand is well thought out in that removing and re-attaching it feels fluid, making changing between cleaning with the floor vacuum and using the extended reach wand effortless. We have an indoor pet and my child has an allergy to pet dander, but regular use of this vacuum (especially in areas frequented by my pet)has virtually eliminated all of my son's symptoms. The triple lined cleaner bag and filtered, sealed exhaust system removes potential allergens from the environment with great efficiency. Even the wrap points for putting away the cord are higher up on the upright's handle, minimizing the need to bend over to wrap the cord. This vacuum does come at a premium price, but its well thought out ergonomics and superior engineering make it worth every penny.

  2. We have had this vacuum for a few weeks and we really like it alot. It has great suction and adjusts automatically to any surface. I even use it to vacuum my ceramic tiles. It is very light for a vacuum cleaner this powerful and has a long cord. I can clean my whole bottom floor with out having to change electrical outlets. It folds down flat to clean under beds and coffee tables which is a nice feature. It is very well built, I don't think I will have to replace it every 5 years like my other vacs. We also have a cocker spaniel that sheds alot and the Sebo does an excellent job of picking up hair. The bags are expensive, but we had a bagless vac last time and the hastle of emptying out the dust cup and sometimes spilling it inside my home made it worth it to me to pay for the bags.

  4. This product is way better than I imagined! I love this vacuum. I love the super long power cord, I love the different hose lengths, the hose attachments, and the awesome job is does. The first thing I vacuumed were my carpeted stairs and it was so easy with the long hose and the pet hair came right up. It was amazing!!!!!!!

  5. I bought this vacuum to replace a Kirby. I've had my Kirby for more than 15 years, and it still works great, don't think it will ever die. However, over the years I have been replacing my carpet with hard floors, and now I only have carpet in the 3 bedrooms. I have 7 dogs and have to vaccum A LOT. Dragging the Kirby around on the hard floors and changing out attachments (none of which attach to the Kirby when not in use) for the carpet and furniture was a pain. I finally decided I needed a vaccum that better met my needs. I researched quite a bit and decided on the Sebo and I am thrilled with it. vacuuming takes me about half as much time now, I easily go from one room to another and if I decide to use the wand it is right there. The Sebo picks up dirt and hair on the hard floors much better than the Kirby did. As far as cost, it is less than I paid for my Kirby, which came with many attachments I didn't need and never used. If I go another 15 years before buying another vacuum I can't complain.

  6. I've now owned my Sebo for two years and I still love it. My first vacuum was a cheap Hoover; it did okay but my sweet father-in-law killed it when he used it to clean up after a construction project. My second vacuum was a commercial Sanitaire. It lasted over 25 years and was a real workhorse, but it was noisy and heavy and didn't have a wand. My son killed it when he tried to vacuum up a canvas belt and destroyed the vacuum's belt and burned up the motor. Repairing it would have cost nearly as much as buying a new one. I spent months researching vacuums before settling on a Sebo and it has been a great purchase. Very expensive but I expect it to last at least another 20-30 years. My home is half carpet and half tile and I use the Sebo to vacuum up both. It adjusts height automatically and does a very thorough job on both surfaces. It is quieter than the Sanitaire but both are fairly heavy vacuums. If you have shoulder problems you may want to look for something lighter (such as the Sebo Felix). I particularly love the telescoping hose. It reaches 8 ft. and I have an extension hose that allows me to climb up a tall ladder and clean second-story window sills and wall hangings. I don't recommend the stair and upholstery turbo brush as an add-on; it really doesn't clean well and I prefer to just use the vacuum and wand on my stairs. (Here again the Felix would be a better and lighter vacuum for this purpose). I'm amazed how long it takes to fill the bag to the replace line and the belt is guaranteed to last the life of the vacuum. It also has an automatic shut-off if you try to vacuum up a canvas belt, like my son did, so the motor won't fry. It lays down flat and has a low profile so it can reach under furniture. It is recommended for allergy sufferers because of it's great HEPA filtration system and it really sucks up the dog hair after my son and his dog have visited. I love this vacuum!

  7. I cycled through several stages of cheap-vacuum ownership (denial, anger, bargaining, grief....) before finally dropping $800 on this Sebo. Until it entered my life, I had no idea how heavy, loud, awkward, and ineffective my (very highly rated in Consumer Reports) previous vacuum was. We considered a Dyson but it felt cheaply made, and reviews were quite uneven. This Sebo just rocks. The tools are wonderful, and the machine feels like it's propelling itself across the floor. Dog hair: gone. Best of all, it automatically changes heights when I move from carpet to hardwood to tile. Expensive, but if it lasts as half as long as it's supposed to, I will consider it money well spent - especially for a two-career family with grade-schoolers, a furry dog, and limited time to spend on cleaning.
